The Oasis
Service Design | Food Industry
NetSocial, with the introduction of The Oasis, is looking to create a system of food delivery through the usage of vertical farming units. We work to make healthy, affordable, and safe produce available to everyone.
Target area: Food desserts

Why it matters.
On analyzing the current vertical farming and produce market we see that there exists a need for a system of vegetable distribution that is advantageous to all sections of society. Most companies focus predominantly on wealthier or white neighborhoods to increase their profit margin. This marginalizes large communities that are not within the target reach.

Approximately 750,000 New Yorkers live in food deserts, where the nearest grocery or supermarket is more than five blocks away.
